“If you want a bank that truly listens,
this is where you come.”
Starting a new business is never a quick spin around the track. But for Mike and Megan Eubanks of Tulsa-based Tel-Star Technologies, diving into entrepreneurship was exactly the life- accelerator they looked for post-retirement. Mike, a former telecom executive, launched Tel-Star in 2000 with wife Megan, supplying, installing, and repairing office phone systems. Over time, they diversified the business, which became more of a technology company with the addition of commercial and residential security systems, as well as the latest computer automations.
The couple stayed equally busy feeding their passion for sprint-car racing, which is how they met American Bank of Oklahoma President Joe Landon who also shared the thrill of speed and competition. “At the same time, we recognized that banking with a credit union no longer fit our growing business and personal needs,” Megan says. Soon after, the Eubanks took a test drive at ABOK.
Now, more than 20 years later, Mike and Megan are enjoying the hard-earned success of Tel-Star, a thriving sprint-car racing business, and a relationship with ABOK that runs deep. “Everyone is always reachable and available,” Mike says. “If you want to talk to the president, you can. The door is always open. If you want a bank that truly listens and cares about your needs no matter who you are, this is where you come.”
